Mary-Frances Schneider, Ph. D., lives a writer’s life.As a clinical psychologist, she focuses on journal writing as a therapeutic intervention technique. She celebrates the Morning Pages journaling process as a guiding force in daily life.  

As a Clinician, Mary-Frances published in American Psychologist, Counseling Psychology, and Journal of Individual Psychology, as well as authored the Children’s Apperceptive Storytelling Test.

Mary-Frances penned two award-winning screenplays: Saving Grace and The Summer She Turned Zero. Saving Grace was awarded Laurels at the Big Apple Film Festival in the Best Feature Film Woman Filmmaker’s Screenplay Competition, as a Finalist, and an Official Selection. Saving Grace was awarded a Laurel as an Official Selection in the Script Summit Screenplay Contest.  

Mary-Frances’ novels include Dear Cookie, Molly McCumber, I’ve Got Your Number.  Many of her stories appeared in Wising Up Press, Universal Table, Herstry, Writing Class Radio, and other publications. 

Mary-Frances produces Telling Stories @ Oil Lamp Theater, where enthusiastic authors perform their latest creative work. 

Mary-Frances pitched A/L Media Strategy, drafted the initial script, and provided the log line (“What happens in the booth, stays in the booth”) for a feminist Harris 2024 campaign ad. It can be found on YouTube as the “Julia Roberts” 2024 campaign ad. After it aired, Saturday Night Live satirized it in a weekly sketch.

Widowed young with two young boys, Mary-Frances married a widower with two lively girls. A native of Wisconsin, she lives in Chicago, where she enjoys the ongoing adventures of her blended family.
